What happens when a cosy attic bedroom, an imaginative wallpaper design and a great sense of atmosphere come together? You get a boy’s bedroom where you’d love to linger yourself!
We worked with Sharon from Mini and Me by Sharon on a special makeover. On Instagram and in online publications such as Jan Magazine and Fabulous Mama, Sharon openly shares stories about her family, motherhood, travel and creating a home full of character. Creative Lab Amsterdam is a perfect match for her personal, warm style.
From Cosy Attic to Dream Bedroom
Her son’s bedroom is located in the attic. It’s a cosy space with sloping lines and plenty of character, but one that could use a little extra atmosphere.
Together, we looked for a design that felt soft and calming, while still being bold enough for a proper boy’s bedroom. We chose our new Italy wallpaper, which we developed especially for this room in a soft multicolour palette.
A Custom Version of ‘Italy’ Wallpaper
In the design, delicate trees climb up the walls, creating a soft, dreamy Italian landscape. The calm base is combined with various muted shades, giving the wallpaper a warm, playful look without making it feel too busy.
Using several soft shades allows the design to complement the room’s existing features beautifully. Natural wood, the rattan chair, soft curtains and shades of green, brown and grey come together to create a harmonious whole.
The result is a room that feels cosy and inviting. A lovely place to sleep, read, play and retreat for a little while.
Creative Lab Amsterdam designs around your Space
Attic bedrooms often need a little extra attention. With sloping walls, windows and different wall surfaces, a design needs to be carefully planned to suit the space.
That’s where made-to-measure wallpaper comes in. At Creative Lab Amsterdam, we look not only at the overall dimensions, but also at windows, doors, sloping ceilings and furniture. This allows us to position key elements of the design where they’ll look their best.
In this room, the landscape now flows seamlessly across the different walls. The trees frame the space, creating the feeling of being right in the middle of a softly illustrated fantasy world.
Every Design Is a Collaboration
We’re always delighted to see how beautifully our designs come to life in real interiors! The best part of our collaborations is creating something together that truly suits both the child and the home. Sharon understands better than anyone how important it is for an interior to be not only beautiful, but also warm, personal and practical for everyday life.
It was such a pleasure to transform this attic bedroom together into a boy’s room that feels both bold and sweet. Looking at the final result, we can only say one thing: don’t you just want to curl up in that lovely chair with a book?
Thank you, Sharon, for this wonderful collaboration and for sharing this beautiful room with us. We’re in love with the result!
