Wallpaper General Questions

A mural has a standard design and are available in 3 fixed sizes: 194,8cm, 292,2cm or 389,6cm width x 280 cm height. We recommend you to add an extra 5 cm on both width and height to be sure there won't be a shortage.

Do you have a wall with measurements that does not match any of the mural sizes, or you have a sloping wall or windows/ furniture against a wall? Then you can choose for customised wallpaper.

Customised wallpaper will be designed uniquely for your wall. It is scaled perfectly so there will be no wallpaper loss. In the design we can replace elements according to your wishes. We recommend you to add an extra 5 cm in both width and height to prevent shortage. If there is a sloping wall, a bed standing against the wall, a cupboard or a radiator, we will adjust the design accordingly, so you don't lose out any important elements. Please take note that the wallpaper is always laid out and printed square. The parts you don't use you cut out yourself. When you order, please enter the measurements of the widest and highest point of the wall. 

Yes, you always receive one free digital proof by e-mail. It is very important that you check the measurements and the specifics on this digital proof. After approval, your wallpaper will be produced.

Unfortunately not. Since it is a digital print there will always be a color difference. Besides, we cannot guarantee that the pattern/scale will match 100% with the wallpaper on the wall. 

You will always receive a digital proof in your e-mail before we start printing the wallpaper. We don't start designing the wallpaper before ordering and paying in our webshop. In case you really don't like the digital proof and don't want to proceed with your order, we will pay back your order amount minus the design costs of €55.

Applying the Wallpaper

No, we don't supply wallpaper glue.

For the custom, murals, wallpaper circles you always need to use non-woven wallpaper glue (for example use brand Perfax).

For the bathroom wallpaper you need to use Bison or Perfax wallpaper glue for heavy and special wallpaper. 

The wall must be smooth and even, so without structure and any gaps must be well sealed. We recommend wallpapering on a white wall, this prevents stains / colors from showing through with light-colored wallpaper patterns. 

The wall must be pretreated so that the glue does not get absorbed into the wall. If the wall is painted with primer, then this will be enough. 

Yes, read the wallpaper instructions that come with your order, you can find the same information on our website.

We can also put you in contact with wall paperers, this option is possible during the order process. 

We can connect you with professional wall paperers. They are very experienced and work throughout the Netherlands.

For questions regarding their costs and planning, we are not able to help you since it is an independent party. If you want to get in contact with them you can let us know with your order.

If you want to remove the wallpaper, you take a damp cloth and make the wallpaper damp. Once the wallpaper is damp all over; you can remove the wallpaper very easily.

Unfortunately, the bathroom wallpaper is very difficult to remove, so we advise you to wallpaper over the bathroom wallpaper for the best result.  

Customised Wallpaper

You have to choose one leading design, it is not possible to combine two designs. You can let us know if you want more elements in the chosen design and/or you can add (maximum of two) elements from another design.

Yes, always check the measurements in the preview. If you want to change something in the design please let us know by replying on the email. 

As we only offer one feedback round, please make sure you send us all feedback/questions at once.

You will always receive a digital proof in your e-mail before we start printing the wallpaper. We don't start designing the wallpaper before ordering and paying in our webshop. In case you really don't like the digital proof and don't want to proceed with your order, we will pay back your order amount minus the design costs of €55.

We can certainly take the sloping wall into account in the design, by not placing any important elements in the sloping part that disappears. After the order has been placed, we would like to receive a sketch with the dimensions of the inclined part.

Please note that the wallpaper is always laid out and printed in a square format. You cut the slanted part yourself.

With a sloping wall, you always order for the highest and widest point of the wall. The wallpaper is always printed square, you cut away what you don't need.
It is good for the designer to know where the sloping wall starts, so that we can adjust the design accordingly. Follow these steps to measure your wall correctly:

1. Measure the entire length of the wall. Add 5 cm to this.

2. Measure the entire width of the wall. Add 5 cm to this.

3. Measure the length from the bottom of the wall to the sloping ridge.

4. Measure the width from the sloping ridge to the side of the wall.

5. If you ordered a sample from Creative Lab Amsterdam, you received a folder. Here you draw the wall and enter the dimensions: the total height and width of the wall, and all distances to the sloping wall. If you have not ordered a sample and therefore do not have a folder, you can enter this on another sheet.

When you have written down and drawn all the measurements, take a picture of this and send it to: wallpaper@creativelabamsterdam.com

No, not at all! We can customise the chosen design in a way that crucial elements are not located behind furniture or windows in the room.

We need a sketch of the wall including the furniture/objects and their measurements so we can create a perfectly customised design. Please send this sketch to wallpaper@creativelabamsterdam.com

Murals - Fixed sizes Wallpaper

The mural for all materials (excluding our Golden Wallpaper) comes in 3 standard sizes of 194,8cm (4 lanes), 292,2cm (6 lanes) or 389,6cm (8 lanes) width and has a 280 cm height at each width.

For our Golden Wallpaper the mural comes in in 3 standard sizes of 200cm (4 lanes), 300cm (6 lanes) or 400cm (8 lanes) width and also has a 280 cm height at each width.

We always advise an extra margin of 5 cm, this is not calculated in the mural sizes. So do not forget to add at least 5 cm to your wall measurements. If your wall measurements do not match any of the mural sizes, we advice you to order customised wallpaper.

Repetitive Wallpaper

The design of a roll repetitive wallpaper is endlessly repetitive. It comes on 1 roll with 2 marked lanes.

The total measurements of the design is 97,4 cm (width) x 280 cm (height). The wallpaper will be delivered in 2 lanes of 48,7 cm width and a standard height of 280 cm.

Wallpaper Circles

 

1. Prepare the glue according to the instructions or use ready-to-use wallpaper glue. We recommend using Ready & Roll wallpaper glue for non-woven wallpaper from Perfax.

2. The wallpaper panels have already been cut out in advance in the correct shapes of the circle. Lay all the wallpaper panels on the floor in the right order to check the image of the wallpaper circle. Draw a small line on the wall using a plumb line or spirit level to guarantee a plumb first panel of wallpaper.

3. Apply the glue to the middle wallpaper panel first. When you have 4 wallpaper panels, start with panel 2 or 3.

4. Place the wallpaper panel on the wall. The spirit level or plumb line ensures that this wallpaper strip will hang straight. Use a wallpapering spatula to remove any air bubbles. Place the other wallpaper panels in the correct order on the wall.

5. Remove the excess glue with a piece of kitchen paper. Then pat dry. Wallpaper should always dry slowly. Drying too quickly can cause it to shrink or tear.

6. Dry wallpaper with the doors and windows closed and the heating at a moderate temperature.

When you opted to use the wallpaper service with your order we will forward your contact details to the wallpaper service company we work with. They will get in contact with you to discuss what you need/want, they will make you an offer and you can set a date.

Creative Lab Amsterdam is not involved in exact pricing or planning as they are an independent company.

Parking costs will be on your account. After the job is finished you can pay the full amount by card or cash. Your invoice will be sent to your email address.

Yes, the wall paperer will take his own tools and the correct glue to hang the wallpaper.

We deliver worldwide, the delivery time varies per destination. Please contact us (hello@creativelabamsterdam.com) if you have any further questions about delivery times.

*The delivery time for customised wallpaper starts after the approval on the design preview. The production time of wallpaper is more or less 5 working days. Creative Lab Amsterdam doesn't have any wallpaper on stock, we only produce on demand.

We aim to send all your ordered stationery products within 1-2 working days.

Yes, Creative Lab Amsterdam offers free delivery on all orders above €50 (total order price), send to the Netherlands and Belgium.

No, unfortunately we do not offer to pick up your ordered items. We will send the products to the given shipping address.

Returns

Yes, stationery products can always be returned within 14 days. You can use the return form, or you can send an e-mail to hello@creativelabamsterdam.com. After you received a confirmation, the product needs to be sent within 14 days. The product needs to be in its original state including undamaged packing material. It this is the case; we will refund you the full amount within 5 working days.

Wallpaper cannot be returned unless there is manufacturing damage, a printing error or damage due to transport. Wallpaper is always produced on-demand.

If you want to know how the colors look and/or what kind of material we use, you can order a sample via our website.

Does the wallpaper have a printing error, please contact us via hello@creativelabamsterdam.com and don't forget to add photos, then we can investigate the problem. We always ask for photos in order to understand the problem properly. When you notice any transport damage; always take photos before opening the parcel, so we have evidence for our transport company. Without any photos we cannot take the complaint into consideration.  

The shipping costs of a return will be paid by the customer, only in case of damaged products or a product with a printing error, Creative Lab Amsterdam will provide a return label.

Payment

We aim to offer the most relevant payment methods to you in a SLL encrypted environment. Currently we offer the following payment methods:

We offer you the most secured internet payment available for your online transaction through our payment service provider Mollie.

Mollie is fully PCI-DSS Level 1 certified (a set of requirements designed to ensure the highest level of security for businesses that store, transmit, or process credit card data) and complies with all internet payment security guidelines set by the European Banking Authority.

All web shops are obliged to ask for your CVC (Card Verification Code) when you make a credit card payment. This is an additional security check and intended to prevent credit card fraud. The Card Verification Code is a unique number that is linked to your credit card number.

The location of this CVC is different for each credit card:
MasterCard, Visa: the last 3 black digits of the sequence of digits on the right-hand side in the signature panel on the back of your card.

American Express: security code on the front of the card, either to the left or right of the embossed 15-digit card number. These four digits are printed in black, not embossed.

For orders outside EU product prices do not include VAT. This means that taxes/duties may have to be paid upon arrival of your order in your country. Unfortunately this is not under control of Creative Lab Amsterdam: it is strictly a local governmental issue . If you want to know the exact amount of additional charges, please check with your local customs agency.

For the US, orders valued at less than $800 are not subject to duties.

Complaints

We will check what size you ordered and what size the wallpaper has. If we conclude that there has been a mistake while printing, we will send new wallpaper with the correct measurements.

If you ordered the wrong size by accident, we won't reprint it. You can order new wallpaper.

If you realize the mistake while the wallpaper is already on paper, we advise you to take it off as soon as possible (unless you don't want to change it).

We cannot refund any costs made by the wall paperers. The wallpaper always needs to be checked before starting the wallpapering process like stated in our terms and conditions. 

Please take pictures of the printing error(s) and send it to hello@creativelabamsterdam.com. We will investigate the situation and come back to you as soon as possible. If it is a printing error, we will print the wallpaper another time and will send it to you without any extra costs. 

If you realize the mistake while the wallpaper is already on paper, we advise you to take it off as soon as possible (unless you don't want to change it).
